So called the French Breakfast radish. It's oblong roots with white top makes it a special and attractive variety, can be eaten raw or cooked.
PLANTING
A clean, friable, and well drained soil is very important to get decent size radishes. Usually grow for the roots. Harvest can be done when the plant leaves are about 10cm long.
FLAVOUR
Mild, extra crunchy.
CULINARY USE
Diced to make salads, omelets, or sandwiches. Can be used whole and rosted, braised or pickled. It works perfectly with blue and feta cheeses, as well as lemon juice and fresh herbs. |
