Known as the table radish, the most popular variety in the radish family. Can be eaten cooked and raw.
PLANTING
A clean, friable, and well drained soil is very important to get decent size radishes. Usually grow for the roots. Harvest can be done when the plant leaves are about 10cm long.
FLAVOUR
Sweet and peppery.
CULINARY USE
Sliced raw and use to add spice to salad, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, soups. Radish can also be roasted, grilled or pickled. |
