Be creative! Try this ornamental kale in your flower garden. From the same family as the edible kale, but this variety is normally grown for ornamental purposes.

PLANTING

Need light to germinate. Prefer moist and well drained soil. Use a big container (40cm+ diameter) to enhance growth.

HABITS

Work also in partial shade but full sun brings the colour. Water well as it can't stand overly dry conditions. This dwarfed variety does not normally need trellising, but the lower leaves can be removed if it grows too tall.

USE

The leaves are edible but are bitter and not tasteful. It is generally used for cut flowers.
