Harvest butternut squash is rewarding. It is rich in complex carbohydrates, fibre, and minerals. The leaves are edible. It is named "butternut" due to it's smooth butter texture and nutty taste.

PLANTING

It prefers well-drained soil. They love full sun and warm weather. Water regularly and thoroughtly to keep the soil evenly moist. Black plastic mulch can speed growth. Build trellises to support growth.

FLAVOUR

Sweet and nutty. 

CULINARY USE

Roasted, steamed, pan fried or microwaved. Excellent to make soups, mash, sauces, salad, sides, etc
